Sign on in support of our CSW67 Zero Draft Recommendations!
NGO CSW’s Advocacy & Research Group, in keeping with our mission to inclusively advocate for gender equality, has prepared five key recommendations for inclusion in the CSW67 Zero Draft on behalf of girls and women in all their diversity, including underrepresented, rural, grassroots/ community-roots and indigenous women and girls, widows, women on the move, women with disabilities, and LGBTQI+ people.
As a result of consulting with our global, grassroots community to understand their lived experiences, we have identified these critical concerns for “the achievement of gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls in the context of innovation and technological change, and education in the digital age.” Women and girls should be included in the leadership and decision-making processes for the implementation of all five of these recommendations.
To assist Forum participants navigate our new and improved NGO CSW67 Forum Virtual Portal, we’ve created short tutorial videos. Tutorials for Forum participants and Parallel Event organizers are now available. We’ll be publishing tutorials for Exhibitors and Handbook Ad Sponsors soon!

Subject to time availability, oral statements may be delivered during the general discussion by a limited number of NGOs in consultative status with ECOSOC. Please note that preference will be given to NGOs speaking about the priority theme or review theme, and to NGOs speaking on behalf of groups of organizations, caucuses, or coalitions.
Oral statements should not exceed three minutes (approx. two pages double-spaced using font size 12). Instructions will be communicated, via e-mail, to the NGOs that will be selected.
Sign-up for NGOs in consultative status with ECOSOC wishing to express interest in delivering an oral statement during the general discussion at CSW will be open from 27 January to 10 February 2023.
Intervening from the floor during an interactive dialogue
A limited number of NGOs in consultative status with ECOSOC will be able to make oral interventions during the interactive panels, subject to time availability. Interventions must be focused on the theme of the panel and not on any other issues.
Interventions at interactive expert panels are NOT to be in the form of prepared statements; NGOs are therefore not required to submit copies of such interventions. These interventions must be in the form of comments or questions addressed to the panel experts. Interventions should not exceed three minutes. Instructions will be communicated via e-mail to organizations that will be selected to make an intervention.

Event: Preventing and Addressing Intimidation & Reprisals for Cooperation with the UN in the context of CSW67
Given the growing number of participants at CSW, both online and in person, and the opportunities and challenges that technology offers to expand and enable participation and outreach, the objective of this session is to provide a platform to share and discuss protection and reporting measures that can enable a safe civic environment to promote the voices, agency and leadership of women, girls and gender-diverse human rights defenders.
Civil society organizations and advocates will learn about the UN mandate and existing mechanisms to prevent and address intimidation or reprisals for cooperation with the UN, with a focus on technology. UN Women and OHCHR will learn about measures by civil society and partners to prevent and address online and offline harassment when engaging with the UN in the context of CSW. Read the full concept note.
Beyond the above mechanisms, the briefing is expected to sketch out some other and related regional mechanisms like the African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights.
In this respect, it will provide information on how CSOs can engage with these mechanisms. The briefing will also be an opportunity to exchange views with some of these experts.
Join the YLYP’s Youth Preparation Series which aims to prepare youth to have a meaningful and effective experience at the CSW. The seven events in the series include informational panels, advocacy training, and professional development and networking sessions.
