BE THE FIRST TO KNOW WHEN EVENTS OPEN FOR REGISTRATION

NGO CSW/NY provides civil society with the opportunities to engage at CSW. Over the two weeks of the Commission on the Status of Women, we organize more than 400 events that inform, engage and most of all inspire grassroots efforts and advocacy needed to empower women and girls.

Apply to host a Parallel Event!

Any global NGO can apply to host an NGO CSW64 Parallel Event as long as their proposed event is relevant to the CSW64 theme. Your organization does not have to be ECOSOC accredited or have UN Special Consultative Status.

Before submitting your application, please read all instructions and rules carefully. We also recommend reviewing the Parallel Event FAQs on our website for additional information.

If you are applying for a visa to travel to NGO CSW64 Forum, below is some important advice:

  • Travel.state.gov is the best place to get step-by-step instructions on applying for a visa for each specific embassy

  • For the Visa Interview:

  • The most important thing is to be able to explain why you’re going to the United States, what your plans are there, and what your plans are when you come back

    • You cannot rely on documents like visa invitation letters, although they are helpful

    • Burden of proof is on the applicant

    • Be specific to your own personal reasons for attending CSW

  • Apply early

  • Sometimes additional administrative processing is necessary and timelines are on a case-by-case basis

Be part of a global women's movement

Be Part of a Movement

The NGO CSW Forum Rally is an important way to celebrate the successes of the international women’s movement. It demonstrates our efforts to promote dialogue between NGOs and UN Member States during the Commission on the Status of Women and will be held on Friday, 13 March 2020. NGO CSW/NY hopes that the Rally fosters partnerships as outlined by the Sustainable Development Goals.

Nominate Someone

Each year, this award is given to a woman in recognition of her leadership in the struggle for gender equality, human rights and women’s empowerment. At NGO CSW63 Forum, we were honored to recognize Gharsanay IbnulAmeen’s unwavering advocacy for girls’ and women’s education, political participation and leadership.

This year, in commemoration of Beijing+25, we will award 5 Women of Distinction. We will be sending information on how you can nominate an awardee in the coming months.
