YOUTH LEADERS & YOUNG PROFESSIONALS

MISSION

To amplify the voices of youth leaders and young professionals, providing a platform for their perspectives on gender equality and channels for their advocacy at the United Nations. To convene young people to consult and contribute to the advancement of the international feminist movement.

VISION

We envision bridging the intergenerational gap in the global feminist movement and empowering young people to flourish as leaders and decision makers across all sectors, for a more gender equitable world.

WHAT DO YLYP MEMBERS DO?

  • Co-create events, spaces for consultation, learning and advocacy, both in person and online
  • Channel their voices to influence deliberations at the United Nations and other activities related to gender equality
  • Connect with youth advocates and professionals around the world
  • Contribute innovative ideas to the work of NGO CSW/NY, including our Consultation Day and annual NGO CSW Forum
  • Take the mission of NGO CSW/NY out to a wider audience

WHO ARE YLYP's?

Young people aged 18-40 with an interest in advancing global women’s human rights and gender equality.

You can become an official Young Leader and Young Professional member for $25 annually.

In collaboration with Women Have Wings, the NGO CSW Youth Leaders & Young Professionals is delighted to make available five $5,000 grant awards to youth leaders and young professionals who have a project or an idea to advance gender equality in their region. The deadline for submissions was 1 March 2021. We are not accepting late submissions.

Important information and updated timeline:

We are so excited to share that we've received over 900 submissions! This number has greatly exceeded our expectations, and we've adjusted our timeline for announcing the winners.

We are currently in the final stages of the selection process. The five finalists and 20 runner-ups will be announced on 1 June.

To prepare young people and youth gender equality activists for CSW65, the NGO CSW/NY Youth Leaders & Young Professionals hosted an event series featuring virtual spaces for youth to share their voices, experiences, and visions, as well as different trainings and skills workshops.
