Youth Preparation Series for NGO CSW66
Every Wednesday from 12-2pm ET leading up to the NGO CSW66 Forum, join the YLYPs for our Youth Preparation Series for NGO CSW66! Mark your calendars for all eight events and don’t miss the first event happening next week!
Registration is free and open to the public! After you register, you will receive an email with a link to log into the Virtual Portal and set up your account.
The Forum will take place virtually from 13 to 25 March 2022, but the Virtual Portal is open to explore and familiarize yourself with! See other participants in the Portal and engage with them; explore samples of a Parallel Event page, an Exhibit Booth, and a Handbook Ad; and learn more about advocacy at the UN CSW. In the coming months more information and materials will continue to be uploaded for registrants to interact with!
For more information about registration and the NGO CSW66 Forum, read our FAQs!
Early bird deadline for Exhibit Booths and Handbook Ads have been extended!
Apply for a virtual Exhibit Booth or Handbook Ad on or before Friday, 28 January for an early bird fee! Learn everything you need to know about virtual Exhibit Booths and Handbook Ads here.
Both are a great way to promote your work to 40,000 people at the NGO CSW66 Forum!
We know that a virtual forum space can be overwhelming and is a new experience for many in our community. That’s why we’ve created some tutorial videos to help NGO CSW66 Forum participants navigate the virtual Portal. The following videos are available to view on our Youtube channel now:
The priority theme for the UN CSW is Achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls in the context of climate change, environmental and disaster risk reduction policies and programmes.
To prepare for the UN CSW66 and NGO CSW66 Forum, we’ve compiled a resource list to serve as a research tool with relevant links related to this year’s priority theme. This list will be updated regularly as more resources become available.
In preparation for CSW66, the NGO CSW Advocacy & Research Group (ARG) prepared six Recommendations for the CSW66 Zero Draft. These Recommendations have been sent to the UN Secretary-General, UN Women, the CSW Chair, and all Member States. The Recommendations are also available in Spanish.
To provide more information, the ARG is preparing one-pagers for each Recommendation, plus a one-pager dedicated specifically to global youth voices.
We need your help to provide an inclusive account of global youth perspectives on the CSW66 priority theme, “the achievement of gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls in the context of climate change, environmental and disaster risk reduction policies and programmes.”
Please take 10-15 minutes to fill out the survey to share your experiences and ideas as a youth activist!
With the global mentorship program, our vision is to continue to facilitate the friendship, support and mentorship between generations of gender equality activists. We hope to encourage a mutually supportive learning relationship with youth and experienced advocates and foster an ongoing conversation where together we can create a community and inclusive culture that facilitates the emergence of a strong intergenerational movement of activists for gender equality.
For NGO CSW66, the YLYPs will be hosting two meet-and-greet events for the YLYP community to connect with our Global Mentors. The first will happen in the lead up to CSW66 as part of our Youth Preparation Series for NGO CSW66. The second will take place during the second week of CSW66. We hope these events can be the start of new meaningful mentorships and relationships between activists of all ages and experiences!
See the list of our Global Mentors for Youth Leaders and learn more about them by clicking the button below. Each mentor is committed to gender equality with experience in civil society advocacy at the United Nations, particularly for CSW.
Our YLYP community is over 2,000 people strong! We want to map our global community to see where you’re all located! This map is also a good resource for finding other YLYPs in your region or country! Click the link below to add a pin on the map and introduce yourself!
The YLYPs have a lot of exciting plans for the coming year! Be sure to join our community so you don’t miss anything!
