At our September Monthly meeting, a diverse panel of debt and climate change experts explored the issues and related interplay. Read the full recap here.
A group of movements and CSOs have gathered to take action on debt justice and climate justice.
Within the Global Days of Action for Debt Cancellation, the Campaign for Debt Justice and Climate Justice is preparing some actions to raise awareness, including a statement demanding governments and institutions to take urgent, just, and ambitious action, in compliance with their obligations and responsibilities.
The statement “No Climate Justice without Debt Justice” is the first stepping stone of this campaign for debt justice and climate justice. Join the campaign by adding your organisation name to the list of civil society organisations and social movements supporting our calls.
The statement is open for signatures until Sunday, October 11th COB.
Share it with your colleagues and network, but do not publish it online yet: we will officially launch the statement the week before the next Global Climate Strike, on October 22. The main platform for the campaign will be the Global Week of Action website, monitor it for the latest updates. This statement is sent on behalf of APMDD and EURODAD on behalf of the Campaign for Debt Justice and Climate Justice.
NGO CSW/NY does not endorse statements: we help disseminate information and facilitate discussion about issues concerning women’s and feminist movements. Member organizations and individuals can decide if they would like to sign on to these statements.
