Mental Health in an Unequal World: Advancing Mental Health Services for People on the Move High-level Side Event on World Mental Health Day

On the occasion of the World Mental Health Day, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), World Health Organization (WHO), the UN Group of Friends of Mental Health and Well-Being, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), and International Organization for Migration (IOM), in partnership with UN Member States, are hosting this side event to examine how inequalities impact mental health and psychosocial wellbeing among refugees, migrants and IDPs. The participants will elaborate on best practices for inclusive, accessible, quality, and sustainable mental health systems within the Universal Health Coverage framework.
NGOs in consultative status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) may submit written statements on the thematic issues considered by CSW66, in accordance with Council resolution 1996/31. Submission of written statements for CSW66 will be open from 24 September to 15 October 2021.
Written statements may be submitted in one of the official languages of the United Nations (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, Spanish) and will be published on the CSW website in the language received, closer to the session.
