Register for our November Monthly Meeting
The 69th Commission on the Status of Women will be a review of the 30 years since the 1995 Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action. In this spirit, NGO CSW/NY will be dedicating each of our Monthly Meetings to two of the twelve critical areas of concern through May 2025.
This month, we will be focusing on “Violence Against Women and Girls & Women and the Environment”
UNiTE Against Gender-Based Violence Event
The “Unite Against Gender-Based Violence” event at John Jay College highlights efforts to combat gender-based violence through awareness and action. This event is part of the global 16 Days of Activism campaign, bringing together experts, advocates, and community members to discuss strategies for prevention and support. Attendees can expect engaging discussions, workshops, and networking opportunities to foster change.

CSW Revitalization Updates
The UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) is undergoing a revitalization process initiated by global South countries, with leadership from ECOSOC and UN Women. Updates shared during the NGO Forum in Geneva emphasized the need for strengthened civil society engagement, accountability, and inclusivity in CSW processes. Recommendations include hybrid participation models, meaningful partnerships, and year-round accountability for member states.
