NGO CSW64 Forum Cancellation Notice
Following the announcement by the UN Secretary-General on the coronavirus threat sent on Friday, 28 February, and the 64th session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW64) briefing held on 2 March, the NGO Committee on the Status of Women, New York (NGO CSW/NY) Executive Committee has decided to cancel all NGO CSW64 Forum events which include Consultation Day, Recpetion, Conversation Circles Space, Orientation, Rally, Artisan Fair and all Parallel Events.

CSW64 Cancellation Notice
In light of the current situation on the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the UN Secretary-General recommend member states to amend the format of the 64th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW64) to a one-day, procedural meeting. This meeting will take place on Monday, 9 March, 10:00 am (EST). The meeting will begin with opening remarks, followed by the adoption of the draft of the Political Declaration. The general debate and all Side Events are cancelled.

We have encouraged all Parallel Event organizers to host their events via online platforms. While we do not have the capacity to help organize these virtual events, we want to help promote them.

CSW64 Statements from NGOs
We are encouraging NGOs to send us parallel event presentations or anything prepared for CSW64 other than the written statements posted here. Please send your statements to info@ngocsw.org and we will post them on our website.

Register for July 2020 Multi-Stakeholder Meeting and September 2020 UNGA High-Level Hearing!
In accordance with the General Assembly resolution 73/340, a high-level meeting (HLM) of the UN General Assembly on the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Fourth World Conference on Women will be held on 23 September 2020, with the overall theme: “Accelerating the realization of gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls,” at the UN Headquarters in New York.
As part of the preparations for the HLM, the President of the General Assembly, with the support of UN Women, will organize and preside over an interactive multi-stakeholder hearing (MSH) on 21 July, to ensure the active participation of multi-stakeholders in the process.
The application is now open until 16 March 2020. If you are part of an ECOSOC-accredited organization, you do not need to apply. Only people who are not ECOSOC-accredited need to register.
