Unpacking CSW67 Regionally and Upcoming Engagement Opportunities

During the first 45 minutes of the meeting, we will hear some relevant updates regarding Generation Equality and the results of the NGO CSW67 Forum feedback survey.
The objective of NGO CSW/NY’s May Monthly Meeting is to unpack the CSW67 Agreed Conclusions and accountability measures through regional perspectives. This conversation will build off of our April Monthly Meeting on the outcomes of CSW67. Facilitated by feminists from the regions and UN Women regional office representatives, we will have breakout rooms for each region (Africa, Arab States/MENA, Asia Pacific, Europe & North America, and Latin America & the Caribbean). Breakout room participants will discuss some of the following potential guiding questions:
- What do you feel worked and didn’t work at CSW67 including the negotiations process?
- What regional priorities were addressed or not addressed in the Agreed Conclusions?
- How are you or how do you plan to use the Agreed Conclusions in your region and/or nationally? (Ex- advocacy and local awareness raising activities, etc.)
- Given the low rating from our survey, do you think the regional caucuses are effective and/or necessary to have during CSW67?
- How can we make them more effective and/or useful for you?
- What actions are you inspired to take leaving today’s meeting as far as the CSW67 outcomes?
- Please share any comments on what you have heard during this meeting.
After the 45-minute breakout session, participants will come back to the main room to report back on their regional discussions. From these report-backs, we will compile the reflections and recommendations into a summary of the meeting to be shared publicly with the recording.
At the end of the program at 10am EDT, we will announce the NGO CSW/NY 2023-2025 Executive Committee slate and allow any nominations from the floor. For more information about making nominations from the floor and the Executive Committee transition process, read NGO CSW/NY’s bylaws.
