CSW65 Written Statements for NGOs

Submission of written statements for CSW65 will be open for NGOs in consultative status with ECOSOC from 25 September to 16 October 2020. Late submissions will not be accepted.

NGOs in consultative status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) may submit written statements on the thematic issues considered by CSW, in accordance with Council resolution 1996/31. Find more information on opportunities to address the Commission here.

Please be aware that UN Women handles written statement submissions and NGO CSW/NY is not able to assist in the process.

Generation Equality: Youth Webinar Series
Saathi has started “Generation Equality: Youth Webinar Series”. The webinars are being organized fortnightly on different themes in line with generation equality approach. In building the youth movement further, Saathi decided to continue the engagement with diverse youth from all the provinces and districts and local government units. We envisaged that this would be helpful to initiate youth movement from grassroots level.

 

 

Latin America and the Caribbean
Beijing + 25 Dialogue: Perspectives from Latin America and the Caribbean
On Wednesday, a Latin America and the Caribbean Women Ministers’ Dialogue was held with representatives of regional organizations and networks that are members of the Committee of NGOs for the Legal and Social Status of Women of Latin America and the Caribbean, preparatory to the Special Session of Beijing+25, which will take place in the framework of the next UN General Assembly, on October 1, 2020. The meeting was broadcast live on the NGO CSW LAC Facebook channel, with a reach of more than 8000 people. Watch the full meeting here.

Briefing: Leaving now woman or girl behind: Trends in specific recommendations issued by the CEDAW Committee

As part of the Beijing+25 and Generation Equality Forum processes, and in accordance with the principle of leaving no one behind enshrined in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the present analysis provides an overview of trends in relation to specific recommendations issued by the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW Committee) on different groups of women that often face intersecting forms inequality and discrimination.
