Preventing and Addressing Intimidation & Reprisals for Cooperation with the UN in the context of CSW67

Given the growing number of participants at CSW, both online and in person, and the opportunities and challenges that technology offers to expand and enable participation and outreach, the objective of this session is to provide a platform to share and discuss protection and reporting measures that can enable a safe civic environment to promote the voices, agency and leadership of women, girls and gender-diverse human rights defenders.
Civil society organizations and advocates will learn about the UN mandate and existing mechanisms to prevent and address intimidation or reprisals for cooperation with the UN, with a focus on technology. UN Women and OHCHR will learn about measures by civil society and partners to prevent and address online and offline harassment when engaging with the UN in the context of CSW.
