Thank you to everyone who joined our virtual monthly meeting on COVID-19 and Feminist Action. We had almost 700 registrants!

In this series of four sessions, we will renew ourselves as leaders on the frontlines of transformation for gender equality. We will explore and learn practices to create interconnected leadership that aligns self, community and movements to create sustainable change. Sessions will build on one another and give us the opportunity to explore how we can co-create a new paradigm based on care and well-being for all people and the planet. The series is facilitated by Mallika Dutt.

Women Rise for All
Convened by United Nations Deputy Secretary-General, Amina Mohammed, Rise for All is a global advocacy effort to support the UN roadmap for social and economic recovery from COVID-19, and to fully fund the UN Response and Recovery Trust Fund.
Feminist and Women’s Movement Action Plan Updates
As part of Beijing +25, the Feminist Women’s Movement Action Plan (fwMAP) has launched a working group to get universities more involved. The fwMAP Universities and Teach-ins Working Group aims to create spaces in academic institutions to further develop an understanding of women’s human rights and feminist activism at the United Nations. University Teach-ins will be the primary delivery method for knowledge about women’s human rights under international law and the legacy of major UN conferences and commitments.

Financing for Development
On 23 April, the President of ECOSOC convened a high-level virtual meeting, under the auspices of the FFD Forum, to advance bold and concerted global action to address the immediate socioeconomic impacts of COVID-19 and finance a quick, inclusive and resilient recovery.

The Women’s Working Group on Financing for Development (WWG on FfD) presented this response to the Financing for Sustainable Development Inter-agency Task Force as part of the collective response of the Civil Society Financing for Development Group (CS FfD) to the first draft of the IATF Report. Due to the economic and financial impacts of the coronavirus and COVID-19, an updated Financing for Sustainable Development Report was issued in April, 2020. There is also a repository of official statements and analysis (from IFIs, multilateral forums, governments or officials), civil society analysis and articles across the FfD thematic areas.
