The multi-stakeholder hearing brought together representatives States Members of the UN of the United Nations and members of the specialized agencies that have observer status with the General Assembly, intergovernmental organizations and entities that have observer status with the Assembly. In addition, parliamentarians, representatives of non-governmental organizations in consultative status with the Economic and Social Council, invited civil society organizations, national human rights institutions, where they exist, academic institutions and the private sector are also encouraged to participate. It will ensure the full and meaningful participation and voices of women and girls and youth.

Meet in small, self-moderated conversations that cover the Beijing Platform for Action critical areas of concern: Women and poverty, Women and the economy, Human Rights of Women, the girl child, and Women and health + CEDAW + SDG targets.
Choose your own day and time. You can also decide another time and date and invite others.

- CEDAW Article 14: Governments should undertake to eliminate discrimination against women in rural areas so that they may participate in and benefit from rural development.
- CEDAW Article 11: Women have an equal right to work with men, which includes pay, promotions, training, health and safety.
- Sustainable Development Goal 8: Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth full and productive employment and decent work for all.

Working for the Creation of UN Women: The Gender Equality Architecture Reform (GEAR) Campaign
Join the first event in the APWWmeet Series 2020! Building on the momentum of the Beijing +25 process, over the next 12 months Asia Pacific Women’s Watch will be working collaboratively to build a number of regional conversations about Gender Equality and Women’s Rights. These will take the form of webinars and interactive conversations. We will contextualise discussions into the current pandemic crisis and investigate what strategies are effective to mobilise, impact decision makers and policy discussions.

Dialogue 1: Solutions for Supporting Local Women Responders in Humanitarian Action
Please join this dialogue on how to drive a gender-transformative localization agenda and promote diverse, meaningful and inclusive women’s leadership at the community, local, and national levels of humanitarian action. Engage in discussion with local women humanitarian leaders to explore what actions are required from humanitarian actors to further increase the visibility, meaningful engagement, quality financing and partnerships with local women’s organizations. This dialogue is part of the Women and Leadership in Humanitarian Action series organized by IFRC, UN Women and OCHA.
