Consultation Day is the launch of the NGO CSW Forum. It is an all-day event that takes place the Sunday before CSW64. It is meant to educate and prepare attendees for the upcoming forum and its priority theme. The day consists of several discussions or presentations with global experts on the theme. In addition, Consultation Day has entertainment, networking and photo ops! |

Women of Distinction Awardees We are excited to announce the five regional Women of Distinction Awardees! Anjum Sultana, Canada Intersectional feminist; researcher in health; writer Dana Bou Ayache, Lebanon Artist; poet; LGBTQ+ activist Dwi Ariyani, Indonesia Disability rights activist Passy Mubalama, Democratic Republic of the Congo Women in politics and gender-based violence activist Tarcila Rivera Zia, Peru Indigenous rights activist A separate email with more information about each of the five awardees will be sent out next week. |
Feminist & Women’s Movement Action Plan – Upcoming Maestro Conference The first Thematic Working Group meeting for the Feminist & Women’s Movement Action Plan “Shakers” Group is on 7 January 2020 at 3PM EST. Thevirtual meeting will be on Inclusive development, shared prosperity and decent work. Register now if you haven’t done so already! You do not have to only attend the meetings for the Thematic Working Group you registered for. We encourage you to join them all! You can find the schedule for all six meetings in January – March 2020 here. Registration information for the other Thematic Working Group meetings will be available as the dates get closer. |
December Monthly Meeting Recap Thank you to everyone who attended our December monthly meeting both in-person and online! As part of the Beijing+25 thematic clusters, the December meeting focused on environmental conservation, rehabilitation and protection by looking at the effects of climate crisis on women. Date: 13 January 2020 Time: 1 – 3pm Location: CCUN, 2nd Floor There will be a Beijing Platform for Action Study Group meeting from 12-1PM followed by the Planning Committee meeting from 1-3PM. Please note that anyone is welcome to attend the Planning Committee meeting, but only NGO CSW/NY members will be officially recognized in our handbook. Additionally, in-person attendance is required for Planning Committee meetings. The Beijing Platform for Action Study Group will be available via Zoom. |
Upcoming January Monthly Meeting Date: 16January 2020 Time: 1 – 3pm Location: CCUN, 2nd Floor The focus for December’s Monthly meeting is “participation, accountability and gender responsive institutions.” The Beijing Platform for Action Study Group will be meeting before the Monthly Meeting from 12 – 1PM. The Monthly Meeting will be held immediately after from 1 – 3PM. The meeting will be available via Zoom and Facebook Live. |
Parallel Event Decision Deadline Reminder This is a reminder that the deadline to accept or decline your parallel event assignment is 10 January 2020. If your parallel event application was accepted and your event was scheduled, you must respond to us at parallelevents@ngocsw.org accepting or declining your assignment. If you applied to host a parallel event and have not yet heard from us, please email parallelevents@ngocsw.org. |
