Intern Blog Posts: Reflections on NGO CSW67

As they wrapped up their 9-month internship with NGO CSW/NY, our NGO CSW67 interns reflected on their experience at NGO CSW67 Forum and throughout their internship. Read their insightful blog posts below.

Participating in various aspects of the Forum helped me to reinforce my spirit of working for human rights and above all to observe that as long as there are activists working for social change there is hope for a more inclusive, safe and just world for all.

As we look to CSW68, we must address the ginormous hurdles faced by queer women, specifically trans women and youth. They are a vital piece of the global feminist movement, and they must be protected and valued by our community. At every opportunity, we need to reaffirm our commitment to inclusion and support.

One of the most profound aspects of the NGO CSW67 Forum was the opportunity to engage with women from diverse backgrounds who attended the Forum. Their kindness, appreciation, and enthusiasm for being part of such a significant event were truly inspiring.

Follow-up: May Monthly Meeting

The objective of NGO CSW/NY’s May Monthly Meeting was to unpack the CSW67 Agreed Conclusions and accountability measures through regional perspectives. This conversation built off of our April Monthly Meeting on the outcomes of CSW67. Facilitated by feminists from the regions and UN Women regional office representatives, we had breakout rooms for each region (Africa, Arab States/MENA, Asia Pacific, Europe & North America, and Latin America & the Caribbean).

Review the complete program of the meeting.

Engagement Opportunity Updates:

During the NGO CSW/NY May Monthly meeting, attendees received updates regarding the Global Fund for Women’s Feminist Accountability Framework for Generation Equality. Download the speaker’s presentation. We also heard about OHCHR’s work on Care and Support for the SDG Summit.

NGO CSW/NY 2023-2025 Executive Committee Slate

Towards the end of the program, we announced the NGO CSW/NY 2023-2025 Executive Committee slate.
