October Monthly Meeting

In preparation for the 70th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW70) in March 2026, the focus of this month’s meeting is on the CSW70 review theme, “Women’s full and effective participation and decision making in public life, as well as the elimination of violence, for achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls” (agreed conclusions of the sixty-fifth session). The priority theme is, “Ensuring and strengthening access to justice for all women and girls.” The NGO CSW/NY Peace and Gender Equality Working Group (PGE WG) is organizing this meeting in commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security. The PGE WG advocates at the CSW to address the critical area of concern on “women and conflict” through increased discourse and accountability on building a culture of peace and nonviolence.
